NEWSMAKERS OF 2011 ...

10. ROADPATI SE CROREPATI: Sushil Kumar, 27-year-old guy from Motihari (Bihar), got both fame and wealth overnight, by winning 5,00,00,000 Rs in quiz show 'Kaun Banega Crorepati' hosted by Amitabh Bachcan. For rest of the janta, it became a dream to get 5 crores in next seasons of KBC.

9. RA-One Jokes : Megastar Shahrukh Khan was at the receiving end of jokes for the poor show of his much-anticipated superhero film Ra.One. Overdosed on Ra.One promotions over the last few months, citizens from all quarters have slammed the movie, the costliest Bollywood venture, for an unimaginative and boring script and poor performances of the all-star cast. The more tech-savvy surfers have even come up with quick photoshop jobs to get their pont across: Here are a few of the better ones I found on the net.
- Govt has declared 26th October as a public holiday to celebrate the end of Ra.One promotions…!
- Crocin, Disprin, Combiflam, Adol Panadol, Diclomol and all painkiller out-of-stock after Ra.One release.
- Salman to SRK after watching Ra.One: "Mujh par ekehsaan karna, dubara aisi movie mat banana"
- Even Ra.mu doesn’t want to waste time by watchin Ra.one!
- Ra.One was shown on an airplane. People still walked out.

8. Digvijay Singh : He remained in news for his stupid statements, often alleging a RSS link of Anna Hazare, called Baba RamDev a cheat and caused an uproar when he criticised the sea burial on Osama Bin Laden and addressed the later as 'Osamaji'.

 7. Mamata-mayi Bengal: After ruling (read looting) West Bengal for 34-long-years, the Reds were finally routed, replaced by the colour green. Mamata Banerjee led the Trinamool Congress to a stupendous victory over Communists, in the assembly elections of May, 2011, thus bringing the curtains down on the Left's marathon stint at the Writers' Buildings.

6. DEATH OF OSAMA : World-over people were asked to vote for which news event they felt was the most important in 2011. Osama bin Laden’s death was the clear winner with 31 % votes.

5. BACHCHAN BABY : 2011 also saw several celeb pregnancies, with the most beautiful woman in the world, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, leaving the nation and the world guessing whether she'd deliver on 11.11.11. There were lots of speculation about the sex of the Bachchan Baby. Aishwarya gave birth to a beautiful baby girl on November 16th, with Abhishek breaking the news through Twitter: ""IT'S A GIRL!". Yes! India’s most awaited celeb- baby has arrived.  Little Miss World is finally here. India can stop being pregnant now...

4. WHY THIS KOLAVERI DI !!! : Making regional go viral and how! Why This Kolaveri Di, a song from Tamil film, sung by superstar Rajnikanth's son-in-law Dhanush, has become a blockbuster with over 1.5 crore YouTube clicks. The term, meaning 'murderous rage', is indeed a rage!

3. Narendra Modi (PM in waiting ???): Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi is not a good, but best administrator available. No political leaders of today’s generation can match his organizational skills. He is also an ambitious politician, very, very ambitious. And the way it’s going from bad to worse for the Congress party, if the 2014  Lok Sabha elections return the BJP and its allies to power, then the prime minister’s job, a growing chorus suggests, should go to Modi. This is not the first time Modi’s name has been floated for the country’s top job. Months ahead of the 2009 elections, at an investors’ meeting in Ahmedabad – Vibrant Gujarat, top business icons such as Anil Ambani pitched for Modi as PM. Currently his the hot favorite among the Youth !!!

2. WORLD (CUP) VICTORY: Dhoni's Sena ended India's 28-year-long wait for a World Cup win. Though Yuvraj and Sachin's match-winning performances grabbed most of the attention, this year Time magazine named Dhoni in its list of 100 most influential people in the world.

1: TEAM ANNA: Anna Hazare is the biggest newsmaker 2011, but for a cause. His fight against corruption inspired one and all.
It seems glamour is taking a backseat and corruption and politics have become the most sought after topics for citizens, After many years we saw an anti-corruption activist like Anna Hazare trending on Yahoo & Google instead of a Beauty Queen, Action Hero or a porn Star.
His constant challenge to the highest government authorities, and his 288-hour fast at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi made him the face of India's battle against corruption.
 Team Anna members Prashant Bhushan, Arvind Kejriwal and Kiran Bedi also did a incredible job of handling this movement in very transparent and inspiring way. Kiran and Arvind were many times seen trending on Yahoo & Google.
Hope of the Hopeless !!!

Review :: The Dirty Picture :: 3.5/5 ***

 Nice concept somewhat similar to Fashion, thou more real & that's why end is not that happening, Vidya did a superb job, picture perfect act, no other actress cud have played this role better, Nashrudeen Shah as always entered into the skin of the character, tusshar was funny & entertaining , Imran was just the story-teller, forcefully added in the story, Awesome dialogues, some had double meanings other had triple or more ;) Well directed but little loose as the end, many times Vidya's cleavage over-shadowed the theme. Very Vulgar as it promises to be .. but mostly real, I dont know Silk, but Rakhi Sawant & Veena Malik can easily relate to this story, must watch but only wid friends & not family :)

Review::Adventures of Tintin (3D):: 4/5 ****

 Simple story, great animation, almost no 3D effects, appropriate humor, smooth flowing script, enjoyable ... one time (must) watch.... Characters like Captain Haddock & Tintin were awesome, Thomson and Thompson & the Sakharine were also good...but the pet dog named "Showvy" was out of the world, simply beautiful imagination...just loved it... Superlative set pieces; Impressive cinematography; Strikes a fine balance between Tintin's art style and realism; Great voice acting.
